I am just going through my breeding plans for 2010 and was wondering whether anyone else does this sort of thing?
I am currently planning when I need to pair up pigs so that I have stock at the correct ages for the NFTCC ISS & YSS, and then Harrogate 2011!!!!
Roughly, for the ISS pairing need to be made quite soon so that they are born in January to be the correct age form 26th June. I have just paired up mine!!!
For the YSS pairings need to be made by beginning of April for the show in September (26th).

We always planned for London and we did for our first visit to Harrogate this year. Our plans just haven't gone well this year and so 2010 will be just to bred whenever. We have ordered quite a few sows with a splattering of good quality boars both in fox and otter and so it's fingers crossed that the pigs play ball.

I tend to go more for time when I know I will be away to avoid haveing heavily pregs left at home, like at the moment not mateing any up cause of Harrogate. Will then mate up so born in spring and ease off for the summer and then have a final fling for the autum. Have just a baby boom here for this year----rose
